Hello!
Hello everyone~ I used to blog on LJ years and years ago. I miss it a lot, so I decided to become active on Dreamwidth. I figured I would introduce myself here to meet fellow FF fans!

How you got into the FF games
At the age of 12, I went to a family friend's house with my Mom for some sort of party. I noticed the host's teenage son sneaking away to the basement, so I followed him to get away from all of the adults. I saw that he was playing some sort of video game. When he caught me watching him, he started a new save file so that I could see it from the beginning. This game turned out to be FFVIII. I was enthralled by the opening sequence, and needless to say, I've been a fan ever since!

My main DC is Crystal, where I have four characters and actively play three of them:
* Coeurl: Althea Valara
* Goblin: Windy Storm
* Mateus: Taylan Eyal
* Brynhildr: Eirian Ari (poor languishing catboy)
But I also have dupes of Althea on Dynamis/Maduin and Chaos/Cerberus! I'm poking at the Dynamis alt because the server is shiny and new, but haven't played the Chaos alt in a while (it was made to attend a wedding).
I've played the entire mainline numbered series of FF games (yes, including FFXI) and loved them all, to various degrees. Some of my favorites besides FFXIV are FFII and FFV, the latter because the job system makes it very replayable. But really, all the games are good and worth a try if you haven't played them.

My faves are FF4 and FF9 along with a bunch of others like Type-0. Depends on the day really, and whether you're asking which world/story I like the most or whether it's about the gameplay. Those two can be really different lists! I love the whole series really, although currently I'm mostly on break from the online and phone games. Been playing (or semi-playing) FF14 since 1.0 alpha days, and I'm concentrated with all my various charas on Balmung.

I don't play much on Halicarnassus right now, but I have several other Dynamis alts (like my Ysayle alt who is currently at level 84 MSQ) so maybe we'd have the chance to run into one another ٩(｡•́‿•̀｡)۶ My main is over on Adamantoise, but I got my dream name on Dynamis (Rosa Farrell) so I've been obsessed with playing there lately!
The opening for FFVIII is so iconic that I can still see it quite vividly in my mind. One of my favorite games to start with (though I will always have a soft spot in my heart for FFVI's opening over it) (✯◡✯)
My style of blogging is more like old LiveJournal on account of having done it for like the last twenty years so if that appeals to you, let's hang out! I fill out surveys, I do a weekly gaming log, and write somewhat every day though I've a bit of an odd week.

My favs are 12, 15, and 7 (though the story of 10 has a place in my heart forever as well). I also enjoyed the 13 series quite a lot, though there aren't many of us that did. xD Looking forward to 16 though I don't yet have a ps5.

Anyway, I love all of your characters' names! Crystal seems like a cool DC. I get the feeling that a lot of people in Dynamis came from Crystal. Maybe I'll see your Dynamis alt around sometime!
I really need to play some of the older FFs. The oldest one that I've played is FFVI!

I already vastly prefer it over here than on Twitter. It's nice to read posts beyond 140 characters. I've always felt that Twitter is so limited.
FF4 seems pretty wonderful from everything I've heard. I really need to play it (along with other older FFs) someday. In any case, I totally hear you re: the difference between story and gameplay.
It must be quite the journey to have played all the way from 1.0 in FFXIV! I can only imagine how impactful Endwalker must've felt for you.
I really need to check out Balmung sometime. Even though I don't RP, I like being surrounded by RPers. It makes the world feel more lively.

I love every Ancient too. Emet has been creeping back into my favourites list lately, tbh. I would've included him in that list a couple of years ago, but some crazy Twitter fans made me distance myself a bit, unfortunately. I'm truly loving him all over again though now that I barely pay attention to Twitter these days.
FFVI also has an iconic opening!!!

7 & 12 are such amazing games, but I've yet to play 15. You have great taste in FFs, though. 12 has one of the most fascinating worlds and history IMO. I really need to replay it sometime.

I definitely recommend ignoring people on Twitter. Lock your account if you have to. I've lost nothing from locking mine and gained so much more haha.
