Soooooo, the predecessor, FF Brave Exvius: This might be the first I've heard of it? Or at least the first I've googled it to register, "Oh, this is an app game."

Worth playing? People like it?

People like it enough that Squenix hosts Fan Festas for it (one going on this weekend, in fact) for both JP version and Global version, trolled our sorry arses with a fully cgi April Fool's trailer for a non-mobile remake this past year (the bastards, that trailer was amazing), and it was one of the highlights of Squenix's E3 presentations a year past along with Mobius.

Also it has a full original cast and an actual plot, with more plot and backstory built into the dozens of Exvius-original character units.

It's worth playing enough that I've been at it for two years and chew my arm off waiting for story chapters, so that's a thing I spose --

I got really behind on gaming news when I went back to school in my thirties, so I get it. No clue about The Youth, but I follow a few game companies on Twitter now to keep up.

But yeah, Exvius is a lot of fun and I've enjoyed what I've played so far.

I'm looking forward to playing this one, I've been playing (JP version) FFBE since launch and it's one of my favorites most definitely. With all the mobile FF game cancellations lately, I might even have the time to play it. :P

Which cancellations are you thinking of? The main FF mobiles seem to be trundling along, but I admittedly play global (and am not in Belgium) --

Oh there was quite a few JP-only games that recently got cancelled or will be shutting down in a month or two. FF Meli-melo (World of FF 'sequel'), FF Explorers-Force (FF Explorers sequel, set a couple hundred years after the original), FF Pictlogica (a highly entertaining Final Fantasy puzzle game that had been running for five years already).. Most mobile FF games never make it out of Japan, it's a real shame.

I do take some comfort in that there wasn't/isn't another own-setting/plot kind of one on the scale of Exvius, say, that I missed hearing of somehow :3;;
