Went out in the in-game news today: FFRK is entering sundown and EoS is coming.

Gem sales end on 30 August

EoS is 30 Sept.




The game launched in Mar 2015, so it's a bloody good run; still gonna miss the wee cheebs, though --

Awww. I'm not surprised because I haven't seen anybody talking about that game in ages. But I still feel a pang of sad. I played for a while and had fun with it.

The subreddit has still had chatter, especially whenever something new was released, GL or JP; but the JP servers' income also outpaces GL by something like a factor of ten, so goodbye GL.

Sounds like what happened with Star Ocean: Anamnesis. I played Global from day after launch until the EOS announcement... Sadly, that game didn't last long in Global at all, alas. But I'll forever be grateful to it for introducing me to Star Ocean, which I hadn't heard of before the mobile game. I still have yet to play another Star Ocean game (what is time?) but I bought First Departure R a while back, so maybe soon.

I don't think there's that much comparison between RK and Anamnesis -- just for starters GL RK ran about 7 1/2 years on a nice tight play cycle, Anamnesis played rough as hell and only made it about a year and a half or so in GL. And rightly so, imo.

GL RK is as much Squenix slaughtering games and branches left and right as it is anything else, given their antics this year in general.
