Spring 2022 news drop, let's go!!!

Yoshi-P posted on the various official FFXVI channels today to apologize for not having any more news to share this year, but promising the next news drop will come this Spring.

Alas, there's been some delays in development due to COVID-19, but to my ears, this list of tasks?

* Increasing graphic resource quality
* Refining combat mechanics
* Fleshing out individual battles
* Putting the finishing touches on cutscenes
* Conducting overall graphical optimization

That, to me, sounds like they are pretty far along in spite of delays.

Someone of Twitter said that the next promised big news drop was supposed to come right before pre-orders open; I don't recall hearing this myself but I could see that happening if the game is as far enough as I think it is.

Anyone else still looking forward to this game?

I know I won't own it any time soon, but yes I am very excited to see it released! I love that they're going back to knights in armor for this one!!

YES. As much as I enjoyed seeing them mix a more modern setting with fantasy elements in XV, I'm really looking forward to a traditional fantasy setting again! I'm so eager to see more of the game. I'm glad Yoshi-P is producing it because after seeing what he's done with FFXIV I trust him to put out a well polished game.

As I don't play the subscription games, the last several FF games have been various versions of modern! 12 was sort of steampunk, 13 was very space age, and 15 had smartphones. xD Even the 7 Remake has cars and motorcycles. Very excited for my knights on birbs!!!
